Unified Data Fabric & Operational Intelligence Engine

A high-performance data abstraction layer that unifies fragmented database silos into a single, real-time query engine, ensuring 100% data lineage and sub-150ms latency.

The Engineering Challenge In large organizations, data is trapped in "silos" different departments use different databases that don't talk to each other. This causes slow decisions and massive compliance risks. I engineered a solution that connects these silos into a single "Source of Truth" without moving or copying the raw data.

Key Technical Achievements

  • Federated Query Orchestration: Built a GraphQL-based middleware that queries across legacy SQL, real-time Redis streams, and TimescaleDB logs simultaneously, returning a single unified response.
  • Performance Optimization: Implemented an intelligent Redis caching strategy that reduced cross-database query times by 80%, achieving consistent sub-150ms response times.
  • Immutable Data Lineage: Developed an append-only audit trail in TimescaleDB that logs exactly where every piece of data came from, making the system fully compliant with strict regulatory standards.
  • Secure Data Mesh: Designed the architecture to work across secure private clouds (VPCs), ensuring that sensitive data remains encrypted and accessible only to authorized users.
  • Real-Time Analytics: Created a dynamic frontend that visualizes live data flows, allowing leadership to see "live" operational health instead of waiting for daily reports.

The Result By removing the "intelligence gap," this platform transformed fragmented records into a high-speed decision engine, reducing the time spent on data retrieval by over 50%.
