Getting a straight answer meant querying legacy SQL databases, Redis streams, and time-series logs separately, then manually reconciling what came back — with no single, trustworthy version of the truth, and real compliance risk from fragmented records.

The Solution We built a federated data layer:

• Federated Query Orchestration: a GraphQL-based middleware unifying legacy SQL, Redis streams, and TimescaleDB logs into a single source of truth.
• Performance & Auditability: an intelligent Redis caching strategy for speed, plus an append-only audit trail in TimescaleDB for immutable data lineage and regulatory compliance.

The result: 50% faster data retrieval and 80% faster query time, with fragmented records replaced by one auditable source of truth.
